रामबन जिला मुख्यालय से चंद कदमों की दूरी पर बसे मैत्रा इलाके की ये तस्वीरें बयां करने के लिए काफी हैं कि यहां बारिश के दिनों में बाढ़ जैसे हालात का लोगों को किस कदर सामना करना पड़ता है। बदहाल सड़कें, नालियों की कहीं कोई व्यवस्था नहीं जिससे बारिश के दिनों में सड़क नाले में तब्दील हो जाती है। खस्ताहाल रास्ते से पैदल गुजरने वाले लोगों को भूल जाइए, यहां से वाहनों का गुजरना भी काफी चुनौती भरा है। जिला मुख्यालय से सटे रिहायशी इलाके की ऐसी अनदेखी से स्थानीय लोगों में काफी रोष देखा जा रहा है और हर कोई शासन-प्रशासन को कोसता नजर आता है।

राजौरी से करीब 40 किलोमीटर दूर कालाकोट में तत्तापानी इलाके की लगातार अनदेखी हो रही है। तत्तापानी के चश्मे के आसपास फैलती गंदगी और बदहाल सड़कें दिक्कतें बढ़ाने लगी हैं। पर्यटकों के लिहाज से तत्तापानी में सुविधाओं का अभाव है, जिससे यहां आने वाले ज्यादातर लोग काफी मुश्किलें झेलते हैं। तत्तापानी के गर्म चश्मे में नहाने के लिए दूर-दूर से आने वाले लोग बदइंतजामों का शिकार हो रहे हैं।
