India's software industry to touch $30 bn revenue by 2025: Nasscom
India's software products sales are likely to hit $30 billion mark by 2025, as domestic companies expand their footprints globally and many new players are getting into the products space, as per the report from Nasscom and UnearthInsight. Software products could include customer relation management (CRM), enterprise resource planning tools or human capital management, etc. Furthermore, licensed software products created by domestic companies such as Ramco Systems and Infosys for payroll management and core banking fall under this definition. The report says, the software products market is estimated to clock $13.3 billion in annual revenue for the FY22 ended March 31, after logging a CAGR of over 10 per cent in the previous three financial years. India is the leading sourcing destination across the world, accounting for approximately 55% market share of the US$ 200-250 billion global services sourcing business in 2019-20.
The IT industry accounted for 8% of India’s GDP in 2020. Indian IT's core competencies and strengths have attracted significant investment from major countries. The computer software and hardware sector in India attracted cumulative foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows worth US$ 74.12 billion between April 2000 and June 2021. The sector ranked 2nd in FDI inflows as per the data released by Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT). Japanese investments in the Indian IT sector grew 4X between 2016 and 2020. Investments stood at US$ 9.2 billion in the review period. Leading Indian IT firms like Infosys, Wipro, TCS and Tech Mahindra are diversifying their offerings and showcasing leading ideas in blockchain and artificial intelligence to clients using innovation hubs and research and development centres to create differentiated offerings. Banks are following the footsteps of Hyperpersonalisation
We believe that hyper-personalisation is imperative for banks, enabling them to respond to customers’ manifest and latent needs. Hyper-personalisation can be defined as harnessing real-time data to generate insights by using behavioral science and data science to deliver services, products and pricing that are context-specific and relevant to customers’ needs. This challenge has been exacerbated by COVID-19, as central banks around the world have scrambled to cut rates. Over the medium term, banks vertically-integrated business models face disruption, as evolving customer needs are increasingly being met by innovative newcomers that are picking off some of banks’ most profitable lines of business, like payments and foreign exchange. Now banks must become more like corporates. In the past, banks’ success rested on mastering a small number of capabilities, namely credit allocation, capital management and operations. There was little differentiation between various banks’ product offerings, and limited understanding of customer needs. We believe that, in future, banks will have to understand customers much better, and to develop the marketing and branding skills that would enable them to foster an emotional connection with customers. These competences are commonplace in other sectors, such as fast- moving consumer goods and retail industries.
The banking industry has been making steady technological advances and the Banks have been investing very heavily in going digital over the last decade. Most of these digital investments have been around omni-channel convergence, big data, analytics, customer journey mapping, user experience, chatbot and other self-service capabilities. Cloud adoption is still nascent in the Financial Services industry, and Financial Institutions are gradually moving forward with their plans to migrate to the cloud. A new poll by MIT Technology Review Insights, uncovers the complex challenges Asia-Pacific companies face in securing networks and systems for remote workers in the post-pandemic era. In this new cybersecurity landscape, conducting a full inventory of internet-connected digital assets—from laptops to cloud applications—and rebooting cybersecurity policies for today’s modern remote work environment can mitigate risks. But organizations must also understand the cybersecurity trends and challenges that define their markets, many of which are unique to organizations operating in the Asia-Pacific region. The report states- There are more and more attacks expected like, 51% of respondents have experienced a cyberattack originating from a digital asset they didn’t know about or didn’t manage, and 16% expect such an attack eventually. Unique challenges such as varied cyber maturity across the region and being unprepared to pivot to remote work during the pandemic have heightened the urgency to establish cybersecurity strategies.
Secondly, securing cloud assets is a priority and it shows, 43% of respondents report that more than half of their digital assets are in the cloud. Well-funded and well-organized hackers and the fast-evolving nature of technology are forcing organizations to consider multiple ways to secure their cloud environments and monitor digital assets. With this organizations also can mitigate risks by adding cybersecurity to the C-suite agenda. As it stands, 68% of respondents say their organization’s board of directors will request an attack surface management plan for cybersecurity this year. The research outlines that 70% of companies report a secure cloud management strategy is key to avoiding cybersecurity attacks. As companies continue to accelerate their digital transformation strategies, more and more of their operations are being moved to cloud environments. FragAttacks to impact all modern security protocols of Wi-Fi

As the world gets more connected, malicious users will find a way to get to the commoner. Wi-Fi's wavebands have relatively high absorption and work best for line-of-sight use. Many common obstructions such as walls, pillars, home appliances, etc. may greatly reduce range, but this also helps minimize interference between different networks in crowded environments. An access point (or hotspot) often has a range of about 20 metres (66 feet) indoors while some modern access points claim up to a 150-metre (490-foot) range outdoors. Newly Discovered WiFi Flaws that is FragAttacks stand for fragmentation and aggregation attacks, derive from the initial design of Wi-Fi protocols and several programming misconfigurations introduced to Wi-Fi devices.
These vulnerabilities surprise many due to the substantial improvements in WiFi security. For one, the defences against KRACK were proven entirely secure. This—coupled with the latest WPA3 security—which also went through improvements—made WiFI much safer than before. FragAttacks vulnerabilities are divided into two major categories: Design Flaws and Implementation Vulnerabilities. Design Flaws are flaws within the WiFi standard itself. These are found in most devices but are difficult to attack due to them requiring user interaction or unique network settings. Implementation vulnerabilities, however, are easier to attack. However, features that were not adopted into practice and parts of WiFi that were not widely studied earlier led to newly discovered design flaws and brought the security holes to be abused to proceed with sophisticated attacks, including those aimed at seizing control over outdated Windows 7 installations inside a local network.
