The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has asked banks to implement Image Based Cheque Truncation System (CTS) in all branches by 30 September. This arrangement will speed up the clearing of Cheques, as well as improve customer services. RBI says that many bank branches are still outside the formal clearing system. Their customers have to face a lot of trouble due to this. It takes longer to get a Cheque. That is why it has been decided to implement CTS in all bank branches across the country to provide a similar experience to customers. Under this, banks will have to ensure that by 30 September 2021, their branches are covered under the image based CTS system.
