The growth prospects of India’s Data center industry have led to approx. The demand for data centers has increased with the advent of 5G, IoT and Data localisation laws and the potential to grow is phenomenal. To meet the rising demand, most cities in India will cross the 100 MW barrier with Mumbai potentially becoming a world leader and at the same time major clusters coming up in Noida and Chennai. The Covid pandemic has bolstered digital traffic and consumption, and it will only be going up from here on. There’s a huge demand for data centers and not much supply is available right now. There is a lot of scope for new data centres to come up. Big investments have already started flowing in and that is an indication of how the supply will shape up here to meet the burgeoning demand.
Data Centers are the backbone of a digital revolution. The Government of India’s proposed Draft Data Center Policy aims to make India a ‘Global Data Center’. Data centers in India are emerging as the most attractive growth opportunity for global institutional investors and leading developers. Now various state governments have also been providing incentives to industry players for setting up data center parks. So far, a total $11.4 billion investment has been planned and committed for data centers development in the country and global firms’ contribution out of this is more than 65%, showed data from Cushman & Wakefield. This clearly indicates the rising preference for India among global data centre majors and is attributed to the data localisation norms and the government’s proposed new data centre policy aimed at simplifying the rules. The new data centre policy is also expected to provide necessary clearances and infrastructure in a time bound manner.

Nirav Modi's fresh bail plea rejected by UK court in PNB fraud case
In a setback to Nirav Modi, a UK court yet again rejected a bail plea of the fugitive diamond merchant on Wednesday despite an offer of an "unprecedented bail package", which included 4-million pounds in security as well as house arrest akin to those imposed on terrorist suspects. The 48-year-old diamond merchant, who is fighting extradition to India on charges of nearly USD 2 billion Punjab National Bank (PNB) fraud and money laundering case, was produced before Chief Magistrate Emma Arbuthnot at Westminster Magistrates' Court here for his fourth attempt at bail.

Fugitive diamond merchant Nirav Modi was denied bail by a UK court on Wednesday for the third time in his extradition case to India to face charges in the Punjab National Bank fraud & money laundering case amounting to up to USD 2 billion and will continue to be lodged in a London jail described by his lawyers as "unliveable".

UK court issues arrest warrant against Nirav Modi on ED's request for extradition
A London court has issued an arrest warrant against jewellery designer Nirav Modi, the main accused in the USD 2 billion PNB scam case, in response to an ED request for his extradition in a money laundering case, officials said Monday. They said the investigative agency has been informed about the issuance of the warrant by the Westminster Magistrate Court against Modi and he is expected to be put under formal arrest by the local police soon. Modi will be subsequently brought before the court to secure bail and the legal proceedings for his extradition will begin thereafter, they said.

The UK High Court has ordered embattled liquor tycoon Vijay Mallya to pay a minimum of 200,000 pounds or Rs 1.81 crore towards the costs incurred by 13 Indian banks in their legal battle to recover alleged dues.Last month, Judge Andrew Henshaw had refused to overturn a worldwide order freezing Mallya's assets and upheld an Indian court's ruling that a consortium of 13 Indian banks led by State Bank of India (SBI) were entitled to recover funds amounting to nearly 1.145 billion pounds.
