The lotus flower seen in the new Indian passport has warmed the politics. The Congress has filed a complaint with an uproar in the Parliament over the place of the ruling BJP's lotus symbol in the passport. At the same time, the government has made it clear that the lotus mark is a security feature and many more such marks will now be used in passports. Foreign Ministry spokesman Ravish Kumar said that the lotus is the national flower of India. Lotus mark is being used as a new security feature in passport booklets.
नए भारतीय पासपोर्ट में नज़र आ रहे कमल के फूल पर सियासत गरमा गई है. सत्तारुढ़ बीजेपी के चुनाव चिह्न कमल के निशान को पासपोर्ट में जगह देने पर कांग्रेस ने संसद में हंगामे के साथ शिकायत दर्ज की है. वहीं सरकार ने साफ किया है कि कमल का निशान सुरक्षा फीचर है और इस तरह के और भी कई निशान अब पासपोर्ट में इस्तेमाल किए जाएंगे. विदेश मंत्रालय के प्रवक्ता रवीश कुमार ने कहा कि कमल भारत का राष्ट्रीय पुष्प है. पासपोर्ट पुस्तिकाओं में एक नए सुरक्षा फीचर के तौर पर कमल के निशान का इस्तेमाल किया जा है.
