HOUSTON -- An international flight was diverted to Bush International Airport Wednesday morning after a passenger died on board the plane, according to the Houston Police Department.

HPD homicide said that American Airlines flight 962 from Sao Paulo was diverted when a 25-year-old woman died on the plane.

Investigators said the body has been sent to the Harris County Medical Examiner's Office to determine cause of death. HPD said there was no sign trauma.

The flight continued on the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport at 10:15 a.m.

Police say an American Airlines jet flying from Brazil to North Texas has diverted to Houston after a 25-year-old passenger died aboard the aircraft.

Houston police spokeswoman Jodi Silva says homicide detectives responding to George Bush Intercontinental Airport just before daybreak Wednesday found no signs of trauma on the woman. An autopsy will be performed. The name of the female passenger wasn't immediately released.
